We have devised for you a simple 4-step guide to setting up and managing your gift list:









We recommend that you set up your Gift List about three months before your wedding and about a month before your invitations go out.
Check out our Online Shop if you havn’t done so already, and/or follow the links to REGISTER as a couple (quick and free)
Personalise your List: If you like you can write a short message to your guests that will appear at the top of your List when they access it – for example “Hi everyone – thank you so much for visiting our Gift List and we look forward to seeing you at the wedding”, or, couples with lots of overseas guests may wish to inform them of the relevant current exchange rates to the Rand, since all the goods in our Shop are priced in ZAR. Also you may upload a photo of you and your fiancée if you like.
Once you are registered you can browse through the online shop again, adding to your list the items you would like to receive as you go. Your List will be immediately saved automatically.
We’ve even added a handy tool for you; anything that you especially want, you can mark with a ‘heart’ symbol which will notify guests that this is an item that you really want!
WGL consultants are on hand to guide you through the process should you need advice on any of the products.

Can’t decide on everything just yet?
No problem. Once you have registered and have your personal login details, you can access your list whenever you want in order to add or remove items









COMPLIMENTARY CARDS FOR YOUR INVITATIONS
The Wedding Gift List can provide you with stylish cards printed with our website address and telephone number for you to insert into your wedding invitations. Click here to see cards. This is a discreet way of letting your guests know about your Gift List and ensures them choosing your gift from the list, preventing you from receiving those 15 toasters!
If you happen to set up your Gift List after you have sent out your invitations, but still wish to inform people, don’t worry, just give us a call and we can discuss alternative options like email or post.

BUYING A GIFT... is simple


Your guests access your list online by simply entering the Bride or Groom’s full name (no tricky passwords or codes to remember), they have a look at your list, choose from the items still available and pay securely online.
For guests who may not have internet access (or who are intimidated by online shopping!), we will take orders over the phone or by email. Guests can also request a copy of the list to be faxed or emailed to them or we can talk them through it over the phone.
The guest will pay the purchase price of the chosen item(s) plus a R29 per order contribution towards delivery costs (if you have chosen to have your gifts couriered to you), plus a 5% transaction fee for any Honeymoon vouchers. These extra charges are clearly marked for the guests, so they shouldn’t have any surprises at check out! [NOTE: we do not charge guests a delivery fee for ‘experiential’ type gifts]
For overseas guests, we accept most international credit cards, so they shouldn’t experience any problems.
Each guest is able to write a personal message to you.









On a pre-arranged date (usually once you are back from honeymoon), TWGL will be in touch to discuss and finalise your list.
By this point, we will have ordered in any purchases that have come from Guests already. However now it’s your turn as the Couple to make some purchases, if you wish:
1. Additions: Say only 7 out of the 8 dinner plates you wanted have been bought and you want to complete the set – well you can now purchase the 8th plate at a 10% discount. In fact, if you wish, you can choose to purchase ANY of the remaining items on your list at this point at less 10%.
2. TWGL Gift Vouchers: At this point, you as the couple decide how you would like to spend any gift vouchers that you may have received (vouchers not valid for the 10% discount)









The best part!
Once all your gifts have arrived in our warehouse, including any extras you as the Bridal Couple may have purchased at List Closing, we will be in touch to arrange a delivery (or pick up) time with you. Selected large items like furniture and large white goods will be delivered (and charged) to you separately, direct from the brand.
Delivery within SA is FREE for all couples (though if you live in an outlying, rural area - ‘in the middle of nowhere’(!) - there may be a small surcharge)
If you live in the Cape Town area, you are more than welcome to come and pick all your gifts up from our warehouse in Somerset West on an arranged date during normal office hours. In this case, there will be NO delivery charges [Only couples may pick up their gifts (and in one pick-up), not guests].
Whilst most of our suppliers are super efficient and dispatch their goods swiftly, others can be a little slower, especially if goods are hand-made or need to be imported from overseas. Therefore we say delivery is usually about a month after your wedding – during the busy period around the festive season, (or if you choose to purchase multiple unsold items off your final List) it may take a little longer, but we’ll let you know.
If you are based abroad, we are happy to help arrange shipping for you, though please contact us first to discuss the possible logistics involved. The cost for shipping will be for the bridal couple's account.

* A NOTE ON GIFT WRAPPING
We no longer offer a gift wrapping service. The majority of our couples to date have elected NOT to have their gifts wrapped since they already know what gifts are coming. So we’ve decided to stop the service, especially as we also feel it’s environmentally UNfriendly to waste all the paper. Your gifts are still packaged and boxed securely and packed with lots of bubble wrap and great deal of care to ensure as few breakages as possible.

THANK YOU CARDS
And the not so fun part....all your thank you notes! To help you, when we deliver your gifts, we provide you with a list of all your gifts, who bought what and their postal address so you can easily get those letters out – no excuse now!
We do pre-warn guests that you will only receive all your gifts a month after the wedding, when they log on to your list.
