The Wedding Gift List is proud to be the first gift registry service in South Africa to offer couples the opportunity of holding a Honeymoon Registry alongside or instead of a Gift registry.These days many couples have been living together for years before they marry, and already have everything they need for the home. So why not instead ask your guests to contribute to the cost of your honeymoon, transforming it into the romantic holiday you have always dreamed of!

How it works |

Book and pay for your honeymoon prior to departure*
Register your honeymoon registry with TWGL (on the "Bridal Couples" page) after which you will be able to write a personal message to your guests about your honeymoon (where you are going etc) and choose the amount of R100, R200, R500 and R1000 vouchers you would like.
[If you would like to register a regular Gift List as well as a Honeymoon List at the same time, you can do that] Guests access your registry and buy vouchers easily and securely online. |
We close your honeymoon registry whenever you choose, usually prior to departure (make sure you tell your guests!) at which point all the voucher contributions get paid over directly to your bank account so you can upgrade your holiday with, for example, a more luxurious hotel room, spa treatments or a romantic private excursion...
Before you depart TWGL will send you a list of who bought you which vouchers together with their postal address so you can write them a thank you postcard from your honeymoon! |
| *Important notes: - The Honeymoon Registry works as a ‘money back’ scheme only; ie the bridal couple must still book and pay for their holiday in full before departure to secure the booking. - The Honeymoon Registry is still quite a new concept and whilst it may seem like a brilliant idea for the bridal couple, experience tells us that guests can still be a little shy about buying you HM vouchers; after all, weddings are traditional celebrations and people usually want to give you traditional gifts that you’ll keep forever. So that you are not disappointed, we suggest the bridal couple also adds a few ‘regular’ gift ideas to their Lists for those guests who’d prefer to keep it traditional! |

What does it cost to hold a Honeymoon Registry? |

| Unlike The Wedding Gift List’s regular Gift Registry, which is free for couples, we do charge couples (and guests) a minimal fee for holding and administrating your honeymoon registry. |

12% handling fee [ Ie if R5000 of vouchers you receive R5000 less 12% = R4400] |
| Guests | 5% transaction fee [ie if guest buys a voucher for R200,they are charged R200+5%=R210] |
